A wildcard certificate also covers subdomains

A wildcard certificate is for *.yourdomain. You do not buy a separate card for every subdomain.

The root and the subdomains share the certificate. When you add a subdomain, select this certificate for it inside the hosting panel.

  1. Buy the wildcard card with the root domain.
  2. Finish confirmation from mail on the root domain.
  3. Attach the same certificate to each subdomain from the hosting panel.
