When a dedicated IP is useful

A dedicated IP adds a separate address to the Linux account. Most sites open on the shared address.

A dedicated IP is requested by some corporate links and older software. An ordinary WordPress site publishes without it. After purchase it attaches to the Linux account you already have.

  1. Have an active Linux hosting account first.
  2. Buy the dedicated-IP card using that domain.
  3. When it is ready, the address shows on the hosting card.
