If a page opens white, the theme is not the first place to look. WordPress and the plugins talk to the PHP version on the account. Too old, and a plugin will not load. Too new for old code, and the page stops.
Where to look
On a Linux account the version sits in cPanel. On a Windows account it sits in Plesk. WordPress itself publishes the version it wants. Changing the version without reading that note can break a site that was working.
When to change it
Read the version note before you install a new plugin. If you moved an old site, write down the old server’s version and start the new one in the same family. Then step up one at a time. The hosting card says which panel the account uses.
