Where the transfer code comes from

The code is the domain’s lock key. You ask for it in the old firm’s panel. Some firms send it by mail. Some show it on the screen. You type it into the transfer line at TechNest.

The lock has to be open before the move. If the lock is closed, a correct code still stops. If only a few days remain on the term, renew first, then move. Transfer sits on the domain shelf.
