The domain can stay at another firm

Moving a domain needs an authorisation code. If you do not want to move it, the name stays there. You write the two nameservers from the hosting card into the old firm’s panel. The site then looks at this account.

If you also keep DNS there, update the A and MX lines to the address on the card. Do not leave both half done. Hosting is on the hosting page.
