The certificate term is separate from the domain

A certificate is tied for a year. A domain is tied for a year. They may not end on the same day. When one ends, the browser warns, and the files stay where they are.

Renewal does not charge the card on its own. You see the date next to the card. The card is on the certificate shelf.
