A new site owner asks about speed. Disk decides the bill. A small company site in its first year splits into three parts.
The core stays small
WordPress, one theme and a few plugins usually stay under half a gigabyte. The space is the photographs added later. Three large pictures per product, uploaded from a phone without cropping, pass 1.5 GB by the end of the year. Mail lands in the same place. Catalogues and PDF quotes sent to info@ quietly add another gigabyte.
Together, an ordinary small site uses about 3 GB in the first year. A package that matches today's folder and nothing more means a move in month six.
What an unlimited label does not say
Unlimited is a word on a card. The useful number is the disk you can fill before the account stops accepting files. Count the photos you will add, then the mail, then leave room. Linux hosting lists the disk on the card. Windows hosting is the other shelf.
