What DV, OV and EV certificates check

DV asks whether you control the domain. OV also asks for the company record. EV asks that more strictly and can show the company name in the browser. None of the three says the page is honest.

DV is enough for a small site. A page that collects a contract or a payment may want OV or EV. Read the term on the card. The shelves are on the certificate page.
