TechNestAn update replaces the theme’s files with new ones. Posts, pages and the menu stay, because they live in the database. Colour and layout return to the theme’s new look. A template file you edited by hand goes away.
A lasting change uses a child theme. If there is no child theme, note the change and apply it again after the update. A backup still comes first. Backup is on the security card.
