When a child name server is needed

A child name server is an address such as ns1 under your own domain. An ordinary site does not need one.

Use it when you will give name servers to someone else. Each row needs a hostname and an IP. A guessed IP breaks the site for everyone who uses it.

  1. Open the child name-server tool on the domain.
  2. Enter the host and the IP you were actually given.
  3. For an ordinary site, use the name servers on the hosting card and leave this empty.
